This painting is a still frame from the 2012 film Short Term 12. This was the first movie scene I painted. I completed a hand-full of others in the following years.

Film has always been an inspiration to me, from composition to emotional impact. My early interest in painting movies scenes has informed many technical features in my own work. It has also lead to my learning of screenwriting. I hope to one day make a movie.
